VR-KOBZAR
Our school proudly bears the name of a brilliant Ukrainian poet and artist Taras Shevchenko who is also known all over the world as Kobzar. Kobzar is also the name of Shevchenko’s collection of poems. Several years ago Taras Shevchenko Museum was created on the territory of our school. Our students act as guides in this museum, offering excursions in Ukrainian and English languages to other students and adults. After COVID lockdown in 2020 we created the project called “VR Kobzar” – the VR tour to our Museum to keep the access to its content open to a wider audience. Later the students of the 10th IT form enriched the project with Europeana Search APIs as a part of the Low-Code Fest 2022 and created a logo and a promo video for social networks.
The aim of the project is to promote Ukrainian cultural heritage and explore the links between Ukrainian culture and other European cultures. We offer our visitors to go on the VR-tour and then use the Europeana Search to find digital versions of different editions of Kobzar kept in libraries and cultural institutions all over Europe and conduct a research work. Compare the books you found with a 1914 edition of Kobzar kept in our school museum. You can see its digital copy in our VR-tour.
Research:
- where and when were the books published;
- are there any illustrations in them, were they made by Shevchenko or other artist;
- what is the price of different editions;
- how many books were published in each edition
- compare the book covers of various editions, what do they tell about the epoch;
- compare the content of various editions and the number of poems;
- are there any translations to European languages;
- compare similarities and differences between various editions.

22 травня 2022 року в Україні відзначили 161-у річницю перепоховання праху великого генія нашого народу – Тараса Григоровича Шевченка.
Наш навчальний заклад має велику честь носити ім’я національного героя.
Учні вшанували пам’ять Кобзаря читанням його поезій.
Провідна мета роботи кабінету ШЕВЧЕНКОЗНАВСТВА – ознайомлення української спільноти, зокрема учнівської молоді, із усіма аспектами творчого й життєвого шляху митця, можливість проводити учнівській молоді самостійні дослідження його спадщини, обговорювати результати й поповнювати експозицію.
Створення кабінету зумовлено й тим, що історична постать Великого Кобзаря, його поетична спадщина й досі є невичерпним ресурсом виховання громадянина та патріота.
